Are Good Looks Really That Important?

I have seen a lot of not-so-good looking people being put down, whether for friendship, relationship, getting a good grade or for getting a job. Even though they don't have good looks, they have a great personality and talent. Sadly, most people don't see what they are inside, whereas I have seen a lot of good looking people succeeding in everything, despite not having a great personality or talent. People just appreciate the fact that they are good looking. This made me wonder, are good looks really that important?

I have heard people say, "They may be a nice person and they may have talent, but they don't have the looks." I feel that is unfair. You can't really judge a person without knowing them! This makes me wonder, why are looks so important?

It's unfair that people with good looks get everything very easily without doing much. But the not-so-good looking ones have to always try and work much harder than the good-looking ones to be accepted.

So I question again, are good looks really that important?

After a lot of thinking, here's my answer: yes. Good looks are important, but not the most important! Personality comes first, then talent and then good looks. It's like this: you meet a person with good looks, but are you going to just meet or you are going to get to know more about that person? Of course you are going to get to know more about that person. You won't be just staring at them for hours, right? After personality, try to see whether the person has a special talent. Then, look at their good looks.

I am not saying that we need to be sexy, but be natural and presentable. I am also not saying that looks aren't important, but they aren't everything. True beauty is a person who not only has good looks, but also has a wonderful personality, good attitude and talent.

There are a lot of good looking people in the world who are not so nice in real life. You may have missed a lot of amazing people in your life. It is true that life is unfair, but it doesn't always have to be the same. We can always try to change it for the better. So rather than judging a person with their good looks, please get to know them better first.

Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
