Too often, most people get caught in the chaos of life, and we forget about all of the things we should be thankful for. The most important of these is the people that surround us and impact our lives in a positive manner every day. Personally, I have many blessings in my life including all of my family, my friends, and my girlfriend. For this article, I am going to focus on my girlfriend, and her unbelievable characteristics that make her who she is. Here are 15 reasons why I appreciate her:

1. She likes me for who I am. Have you ever had that awkward relationship where you feel like you can't be yourself? Luckily, I don't have to worry about that. Despite my endless array of weirdness, I still earn the title of "bae".

2. She's a great listener. You've never met anyone who could listen as well as this girl. Stories, rants, jokes, speeches...she'll listen through it all.

3. She’s proud to be mine.

4. She’s forgiving and understanding. The toughest part of a relationship is finding a way of being forgiving, and also being understanding during the rocky parts of life. Luckily, I have found someone that always has my back.

5. She loves Disney and the NFL as much as I do. I mean, this has to be the most important one...hands down.

6. She finds new ways to show me she cares about me. It truly is hard to be unique when showing affection to another person, but at least I have a creative other half who somehow found a way of traveling 700 miles to see me without me even knowing.

7. She appreciates what I do for her, she's respectful, and supportive.

8. She tries new things just for me. If you have a significant other who wants to embark on territory they have never explored before just because it's with you, that is pretty awesome.

9. She handles the struggle of being long distance, because we know it’s worth it.

10. She is beautiful just the way she is and she knows she does not need to change herself. Nothing more to be said about that.

11. She can always make a bad day better. Nothing better than having that guy or gal who brightens up even the worst of days.

12. She loves spending time together, even when it is short-lived.

13. She is hilarious and we have the best inside jokes together. Laughter is truly the best medicine, especially when it is with someone you care so much about.

Sometimes when life comes at you hard, you just have to sit back and remember all of the people you should be thankful for. Who are you thankful for in your life?

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
