Basically, the second you get to college, everyone in your life starts to ask you what you’re doing for the summer, and for the love of God, I DON’T KNOW YET!!!! Anyway… sorry about that. But, you know what I mean. Everyone will ask you this question. Friends, peers, parents, siblings, extended family, and even strangers will annoy you to death by simply trying to figure out what you will be doing throughout the summer. I mean, maybe it’s acceptable to have fun and “throw away” one more summer when you’re a freshman in college, but after that, it’s all about the experience because hey, let’s face it, if you don’t graduate college with 30 years of experience, no one will hire you. no one. But, applying to internships isn’t all that easy. Besides the fact that you have to apply to a million of them, you need to have a stellar resume and a cover letter that reads like it was written by all the CEO of Google combined with the styling of Maya Angelou. So, here are the struggles… explained by spongebob:

1. Struggling to find the time to apply because you also have to do that readings for that one class and send in that essay by 11:59 pm... oh and don’t forget that club meeting after dinner!

2. Seeking out all those connections and annoying them endlessly with emails because maybe they can just hand you an internship.

3. Realizing your resume and cover letter are absolute trash and you have to re-do it all.

4. So you sit down and do it……. but it takes all night long.

5. And when it comes to writing down your experience and the skills you have, you will honestly write anything that could be construed as something useful.

6. And then you have to figure out how to make your cover letter sound like you are exactly what they are looking for, but in reality, you look like this:

7. But eventually you start going crazy from trying to make everything about you sound perfect.

8. So you just move on and actually begin applying to internships.

9. And after all this time you devoted to applying, you have finally finished all the applications you wanted to do.

10. But now… it’s time to wait. Will you ever get hired?????

11. And you experience a whole range of emotions, including fear…

12. And anxiety…

13. And denial…

14. But one day, that email comes…

15. AND YOU’VE BEEN HIRED!!!!

So, just remember: it’s a stressful process for everyone to try and figure out what they are going to do for the summer, but it does all work out in the end, so keep pushing through, and see you on the other side!

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
