It's the big Pre-Order Night for Apple products and you stay up waiting to get your hands on a new iPhone 7. But something goes wrong at 3:01 a.m. The store unlocks online and nothing is available. Why is this happening, you say. You gave Apple Inc. your trust when they told you to sign up for the iPhone Upgrade Program last year with your 6S. So let me tell you the story that went down.

Last year at the iPhone 6S keynote, Apple unveiled something cool; it was supposed to be a new way to break away form your carriers and still be able to get your iPhone without spending almost 1K a year to upgrade every year. This sounded great to everyone in the crowed we were all so excited. The reason why I went in on it is because it made sense at the time I would buy my iPhones outright so financially this made it easy on pockets and I wasn't tied down to a carrier which was the reason why I started buying outright.

So come that Friday when I had to change my sleep schedule to get that phone, it tells me that the whole state of Florida is sold out. Now if I had woken up at 6 or 7 am I would have believed this, but my clock said 3:12 a.m. by the time I kept retrying and finally got the store map to tell me if there were any in store for me to pick up. Apple’s promise was that we would be day one for our iPhones as long as we made 12 months of payments, which at this time almost everyone should have been 12 months now.

I went to one place I could find other users, which was Reddit. They were just as upset as me and we felt lied to because, if you look at the keynote, it said day one we would always have the latest and greatest. Yet when the time came they couldn't keep up their end of the bargain like they were supposed and that is not okay with me and others.

As of right now, it looks like Apple may be facing a lawsuit if it goes forward. That's a little extreme for me all I want is for them to some how let me get my iPhone day one or maybe next week with compensation because I am paying for the latest and greatest so when my payment for this month comes it better reflect that my iPhone is no longer the greatest. That's literally all I could ask for like is it that much no it isn't but we will have to wait and see come Friday. This year will be the first that I am not a Day One user, which deeply saddens me to the core. But I am hopeful that next year will be a lot smoother with the program - I am just going to call this year a small bump for the new kid.
