Life, love and relationships are confusing. Your emotions are a crazy thing and something that are not easily controlled whatsoever. You have feelings and sometimes those feelings are so beyond your control that you don’t even know what to do with yourself.
You’ve been hurt in some way. Hurt by someone you probably gave your all to. Hurt by someone who you gave so much effort and emotion too. One of the last people you were anticipating to hurt you.
No matter your expectations, it happened. That person caused you pain in some way that then caused you two to separate.
Your emotions are scattered everywhere and you feel so much. It’s like you can feel every single one of your teardrops falling to the floor just as if they were your heart itself hitting the ground. How could the person you cared about so much ever cause you this much pain? How could the person that’s supposed to love you make you feel like this? You feel all this aching, but you still care. You care so much.
Your heart and head almost begin a civil war between what you know and what you feel.
You talk, you figure things out (for the most part) and you take them back. No matter what your friends or your family say, you care too much to just let this be the end. You take them back and you may be happy for now, but things aren’t the same. There’s something missing. The trust or the same emotion and spark just aren't there anymore. How could you care so much and be so attached to something that just doesn’t feel exactly like it used to? You don’t know if they’re the one you’re supposed to be with, but you definitely know you don’t enjoy life as much without them.
Sometimes there are so many opinions and voices and conflicting thoughts from your friends and family and yourself that you don’t know who or what to listen to. Your friends and family care about you so much and don’t want you to feel any pain and don’t want you to make mistakes. They only want the best for you, but this is a mistake you need to make for yourself. The person you are fighting for might be the completely wrong person for you, but that is something you, and only you, can decide. You will never learn what your boundaries are or what you actually need without allowing yourself to get hurt.
I am not telling you that you should put up with a person who doesn’t treat you right to teach you a lesson whatsoever. If you love someone and they love you, things will work out how they are supposed to, whether you end up together or not. You’ll never know if you don’t give it a shot, though. It’s okay to take someone back, but it is not okay to lower your standards and to allow yourself to be treated as less than you are and deserve. Take these re-relationships as lessons and learning experiences. Learn when it is ok to stay and try again, but always, always, always, know when it is time to walk away for good.
