Nana,
Thank you.
Thank you for being the second mother figure in my life. To guide me, to help me, and to push me in life to be who you know I could be. Your gentle heart has taught me to love and to forgive. (Although we both know that’s not an easy thing for me.) You’ve shown me that through faith you’re never alone. The strength, kindness and devotion you hold have been the largest influence on me. I could only wish to be half the woman you are.You are one of the strongest, most dedicated woman I have met.
Thank you for showing me what marriage really is and what unconditional love means. The two of you have set an exceptional example for me to watch growing up. That no matter what, through the trying moments, the love you have for each other always endures. You've shown me patience and courage. You taught fairness and always keeping your promises. You have always filled me with great words of encouragement and joy, and have been one of my biggest fans through my life.
Thank you for always supporting me through every decision, and picking me back up after each disappointment. Thank you for being the best storyteller, question answerer and listener. I know that I can always call you to complain about my day and your contagious laugh will always brighten it. Through the years you have taught me many lessons about life by telling me stories about yours. These lessons I will cherish forever.
Thank you for taking the time to always teach me how to do the latest craft of interest, for quilting with me every summer growing up, and for the endless supply of homemade Orange Julius's. Reminiscing through the Friday's of my life, they are filled with adventures, sentiment, and the best food.
You’ve shown me that though life is not easy it is not hard to lead a happy one. That I can conquer anything with my family and a Bible at my side. You have always believed in me to the fullest, even in the moments I was doubtful. The outlook you have on life has always been unique, and has taught me to look for the silver lining.
Thank you for being the greatest Nana I could have ever wished for. Most importantly, thank you for being the best at making blueberry custard pie. I love you so much. Words could never describe how thankful I am for you.
Love,
Your Granddaughter
