On Wednesday, November 2nd at around 11:30 p.m., actress Anne Hathaway visited Temple University's main campus to campaign for Hillary Clinton. Just outside of the Howard Gittis Student Center, the actress encouraged students to sign up to volunteer for the Hillary Clinton campaign.
Word went around about Hathaway's appearance, and soon students swarmed between the intersections of W Montgomery Ave and N 13th street.
Anne took selfies with fans, and even made the crowd sing "happy birthday" to a student whose birthday it was that day. When someone shouted, "nasty woman," referring to Trump's comments toward Clinton, Hathaway shouted, "You know it!"
Before she left, Anne Hathaway made an announcement encouraging the students to go out to the polls on November 8th.
She said, "Thank you so much. I'm here to encourage you all to get out and vote, make sure you're registered, make sure you know where you're polling place is, make sure you have a plan."
She continued, "Thank you so much for being here and I'm not trying to tell you what to do, but I'm supporting Hillary Rodham Clinton and I hope you are too. Let's put her in the White House and let's shatter that glass ceiling!"
Hathaway was met with cheers from the entire crowd before she entered her car to continue campaigning for Hillary Clinton throughout the area.
