The internet has been flooded with articles and images of the new "Angel Shot" trend used in bars generating from a bar in Florida. The purpose of an Angel Shot is to give women a code word when they are feeling uncomfortable in a bar situation. If you are to go to the bartender and ask for an Angel Shot Neat, the bartender will have someone escort you to your vehicle. If you ask the bartender to give you an Angel Shot With Ice they will call either Uber/a taxi/ or some form of public transportation to pick you up. Lastly, if you are to order an Angel Shot With Lime, this will tell the bartender that something is really wrong and they will call the police or local authorities.

Now this does not mean that women need to go to the bartender and order an Angel Shot if some guy asks them to dance and they don't want to. The point of the Angel Shot is to give women a discrete way of asking for help in a situation they do not feel comfortable in. For the word to be spread to women, posters will be posted in women's bathrooms in bars with the directions on what type of "drink" to order if they are ever in a situation where they might need help.

Angel Shots will not completely stop bad things from happening at bars, but this may be a step in the right direction for safer atmospheres. Hopefully this trend will catch on to bars across the nation and will be universal for people in uncomfortable situations.
