I have been an Andy Grammer fan since 2011, A.K.A as soon as he came on the scene. I have seen him in concert six times now, with my most recent trip to Louisville to see him perform with American Authors. If you can’t tell, I cannot get enough of the guy. He’s my favorite musician, next to Drake. Same differences, right? I don’t discriminate against genres.
But I gotta brag about Grammer for a minute. After seeing him in 2011 with Colbie Caillat, I was sold. I listened to his CD on repeat, and when I saw him live, I knew he was the best (*still is the best). It takes a special kind of artist to sound just like they do on the radio, live. Nowadays, too, many “musicians” rely on auto tone to sell their albums. Grammer is the real deal.
Other than the amazing vocals, the reason I keep coming back for more AG is because he seems more like a friend than a celebrity. Almost every show I’ve been to I have been able to get a picture with him. And each time I get more and more excited, like it isn’t the fifth picture I have with him. It makes the shows that much more personal and you can tell he’s so grateful for his fans.
His new single out now is “Honey, I’m Good” and unless you don’t listen to the radio or watch TV, you’ve heard it. Andy also recently performed with Taylor Swift on her 1989 World Tour. How awesome is that? I’m so glad he’s finally getting all the recognition he deserves.
I don’t fan girl over many celebrities, but you best believe when it comes to Grammer, I am that 12-year-old girl who’s listening to her first Justin Bieber song.
When the time comes, I vow to do everything in my power to have Grammer sing at my wedding. (Andy, if you just so happen to read this—fret not, I don’t plan on being married for a while, so hopefully when that day rolls around your schedule will be a little less hectic.) A girl can dream, right?
I still plan to keep seeing Grammer in concert as long as he goes on tour. I’ll still wear my “Honey, I’m Good” shirt, tweet aimlessly about how awesome he is and annoy my friends with how many times I reference his music or play it in the car.
So, y’all, do yourself a favor and go buy Magazines or Novels, and listen to this guy do his thing. I’m obviously a Grammer addict and I’m sure you’ll be one, too, once you start listening.
