Dear Donald Trump,
I heard you were running for President of the United States of America and even secured the Republican nomination. It's a big step from just being a businessman to becoming a successful politician, so I wanted to take some time to thank you for some accomplishments you have already achieved since you started your race to the White House.
First off, thank you for exposing the amount of xenophobia that is currently in the United States. It really means a lot to know that there is a huge population of Americans who are afraid of immigrants and refugees. There is a large amount that have been coming to the country, you know, to escape wars, terrorism, and to better their lives in what many call the greatest country on Earth. Thanks to you, though, we have found out that not every American feels friendly toward them all, but I'm glad your wife has been safe from all this xenophobia. Make sure to say hi to her for me.
Next, I want to thank you for exposing the racism that is still prevalent in 2016. It's incredible to think that just about 60 years ago, we were facing segregation between races of people. We thought we fixed the problem and unified the nation, but I guess not. It means a lot to not only me, but a large group of people knowing that there is a huge population of Americans who have a problem with another race. Thank God you're white, or I would be very concerned for your safety.
Lastly, I want to thank you for showing us the big problem Islamphobia plays in America today. Religion is scary. I mean, I see protests thanking god for dead soldiers and saying that f**s are going to hell, but that's only the Westboro Baptist Church. Luckily all Christians aren't like that or else I would have to be afraid of my own grandmother, the one who who loves to knit hats and mittens and volunteers at the food shelf. But Islam on the other hand, yeah, that one group of terrorists represent the entire faith: all billion or so of them.
Thank you, Donald, for all you have done in your race to the White House. Not only have you exposed a part of American society that is very ugly, you have shown us that we are not perfect and still have to work to overcome these social issues. It not only means a lot to me, but I'm sure it means a lot to my fellow Americans, and since these problems are exposed, I'm sure we can work to "Make America Great Again."
Yours Truly,
Anthony J. Sawyer
