An Open Letter To The Struggling College Student

Dear Struggling College Student,

I'm sorry that you just opened this article and are also struggling this mid semester. College may be considered some of the greatest years of our lives, but it definitely isn't easy.

Right now you may be procrastinating writing that seven page psychology paper that you could care less about. Maybe you just finished a biology project that took you a week to complete. You may feel like both assignments are pointless now, but I promise...

It will all be worth it.

Today you may have walked out of an exam knowing you completely bombed it and at this rate it seems like you'll be sitting in the same class next semester. You may feel like you're a failure and just want to give up, but I promise...

It will all be worth it.

Halloween is around the corner and you decide you want to go all out this year, but check your bank account and realize three dollars and twenty seven cents sure isn't going to cover it. You wish that you graduated and had a real job already, but I promise...

It will all be worth it.

Maybe your reading this as you sit in the dining hall eating the same crappy food you seem to get everyday. You wish you were home eating one of your mom's special meals, but I promise...

It will all be worth it.

You look in the mirror and wonder when you're actually going to start that diet. Then you realize it's practically impossible to eat healthy and have a good work out schedule in college, but I promise...

It will all be worth it.

The boy or girl that you hooked-up with last weekend may not have texted you back still. For a second, you wish you were already past this stage and had your love life figured out, but I promise...

It will all be worth it.

To those reading this while going on their third straight night in the library, I commend you. You may feel like crap right now, but I promise you...

It will all be worth it.

You may be questioning why you decided to take eighteen credits this semester to get ahead, but I promise you...

It will all be worth it.

No matter what your major is, college is tough one way or another. At the end of the day always remember you're there for a reason and I promise you...

It will all be worth it.

Good luck,

Victoria

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
