Dear person who held the door,
You made my day. How could such a little action of little effort make someone's day? Well, you don't know my story; you don't know what happened. You holding that door and giving me a smile caused a chain reaction. I thought the world was out to get me but you proved that wrong. Thank you for such a kind gesture; you do not know what that meant.
From,
A stranger
Dear person who helped me up,
When I tripped and fell, I dropped all of my books. I scraped my knee and felt embarrassed. I am so clumsy and no one ever helps me up. But then I saw your hand to help me up. As you helped lift me up, you said, "don't worry, I fall all the time." I smiled and thought of my life differently. People do care and people are clumsy like me. Thank you for your help, it really meant a lot.

The girl who tripped
Dear people across the nation who subconsciously make someone's day,
Not all heroes wear capes. The little things, that no one ever thinks are important, make this world a better place. Whether it be a smile, a simple "hello, how are you", a tissue or keeping a door open, you impact a stranger's life.
The reason why I am writing this piece is to stress how, with merely no effort, you can make society better. I have always heard stories about depressed or suicidal individuals failing to commit suicide because a simple gesture someone did.
"They held the door and smiled, and I knew I had a purpose on this earth."
"I thought I was invisible, until someone noticed me. I have worth, I am more than I think I am."
It's the little things that matter the most.
From,
A simple girl trying to make a difference
