To the boy that loves me next,

I just want to start off with saying I'm sorry.

I'm sorry for all the mistakes I've made in the past that might affect us in the future. I'm sorry for settling for boys that I shouldn't have, that made me guard my heart a little more than I should. I'm sorry for being impatient and getting frustrated wondering when you were going to come around.

I'm sorry for having an anxious heart that will make you worry when I might act distant. I'm sorry that things might take longer than they should because of how indecisive I am 24/7. I'm sorry if I annoy you by asking you to hang out all the time, I just want to be with you and want you to know how much I enjoy being with you.

I'm sorry for not praying for you as much as I should because I was distracted with things that were of such unimportance that I just didn't realize at the time. I'm sorry for the things I'm going to do wrong. I'm sorry for when I get in my head too much and mess things up, but please be patient with me.

Secondly, I promise.

I promise to love you when it gets hard. I promise that when things get tough, we will take it on together. You won't have to do anything alone. I promise I'll give you my whole heart. I promise to pray for you. I promise to be honest with you, even when it is really, really hard. I promise to be your accountability partner. I promise I'll do my best to make you happier than you've ever been. I promise to take your side when it seems like everyone else isn't.

I promise to stay yours and only yours. I promise to take so many silly Snapchats of us, even when you don't want to. I promise I'll take way more pictures of you than I should. I promise to be your sunshine on your rainiest day. I promise to make sure you know how much you mean to me. I promise you won't have to pay for everything we do. (Your girl needs to treat you sometimes right?) I promise we will binge watch Netflix when we probably should be studying. I promise to support you in everything you do. I promise to understand when unexpected things come up.

I promise to be patient with you when it seems hard to be. I promise I'll try to not be too much of a diva for you. But I promise I probably will be too much of a diva for you at times. I promise to hold your hand. I promise to hug you every time like it's the first time I met you. I promise to give you random kisses. I promise I will be there until you ask me not to anymore. I promise to love you even when you don't love yourself.

But most importantly, I'm so excited.

I'm so excited to be yours. I'm so excited and privileged to get to know you more and grow with you and love you. I'm excited to see how the Lord works in your life, and in us together. I'm excited to see your eyes when they light up when you talk about what you love. I'm excited to meet your friends. I'm excited to find out the things that you are passionate about. I'm excited to go on cute little cliche dates. I'm excited to unravel the quirky little things about yourself that you're embarrassed about.

I'm excited to pray for you and seek the Lord together. I'm excited to pursue you. I'm excited to meet your family and to love them just as much as you do. I'm excited to go on coffee dates and talk about anything and everything. I'm excited for rainy day movie days with you. I'm excited about spur of the moment adventures that we take and we have no idea where we are going. I'm excited to be patient for you. I'm excited to love the things you love. I'm excited to be your #1 cheerleader in whatever you do. I'm excited to brag about you to all my friends and family, to the point that it gets annoying.

I can't wait to have late night Jesus talks with you. I can't wait to be your best friend. I can't wait to have that feeling in my stomach that I will get when I see you. I can't wait for life to be a whole lot sweeter because of you. I can't wait to be most comfortable when I'm with you. I can't wait to miss you when you're gone. I can't wait to be your girl.

Past relationships always bring repercussions into the next one, and I know you probably will have baggage too. But that's okay. We will help each other get through it. A true relationship is when two people refuse to give up on each other. I know I am not going to be expecting you when you come, but I'm patiently waiting because I know you will be worth it.

You are deserving of the most pure, authentic love. I hope you know that.
