TV Guide

Anyone who knows me, knows that I am the biggest Taylor Swift fan around. I know that there are many people who despise her, which is fine because I know everyone has a right to their own opinion. I am not the kind of person who will pound my own thoughts and ideas into your head, telling you that I am in the right. I will respect that there are other opinions than mine, but as a Taylor Swift fan, I need people to respect my opinion as well.

I have been a fan of Taylor Swift since "Tim McGraw" first came out on country radio when I was in seventh grade. Saying this means that I have basically grown up listening to her music. I've enjoyed watching her grow as a person in the spotlight, as well as evolve her music over the years. To me, her songs are like stories, and I love listening to every one of them because she makes me feel like I have lived those stories.

In the past month, Taylor has not only broken up with her boyfriend of over a year, Calvin Harris, but also has gone on to start dating someone new, Tom Hiddleston. Every time I pull up my Facebook news feed, there is always a new article bashing Taylor Swift. I understand that this is what celebrities are for, entertainment, but they are also real people with very real lives. Living in the spotlight like that would be like reliving high school every single day, except the people don't really know who you are as a person, they just have an "idea" of how you are, they don't care about hurting your feelings, and they are meaner than you could ever imagine.

I am honestly really tired of the public shaming that continuously keeps happening. Not only with Calvin Harris Tweeting out his feelings the other day, but with Kim Kardashian and Katy Perry getting involved as well. I know that anti-Swifties will argue that Taylor Swift does that in her songs, BUT she doesn't name names for one, and she doesn't directly attack someone on social media.

One thing that I cannot stand is people fighting over social media. It has to be a number one pet peeve for me. I don't want to read about your business and it makes me think that you are about as mature as a five-year-old. So for Taylor Swift to continuously keep her social media accounts clean from snarky comments towards others and pettiness, really speaks volumes in my book. That quality is just one of he many, that makes her such a great role model.

So to fellow Swifties out there, I am here to tell you, don't lose hope in our girl. Yeah she is off tour, has a new boyfriend, and is living her life like she should. Like all other Swifties, I just want Taylor to be happy and spend the rest of her life writing songs that continue to make others feel like they aren't alone in the world. Taylor Swift is a genius song writer, generous to her fans and deserves every thing she has worked so hard for. I understand that she has her own life to live; that is something that everyone needs to understand. We all live our lives and make mistakes and do things that some people don't always agree with, but it's our life. Just like she is living her life. I will always be a Taylor Swift fan, due to how she always handles herself so gracefully even through the most messiest situations.

Hopefully with all the new life changes Taylor has made over the past year, we will maybe see an album release within the next few months! I can't wait to see where her stories take us next!

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
