An Open Letter To My Sorority Sisters

Hey sisters,

I just wanted to say thank you for a great first couple of weeks back. Work week, welcome week, and recruitment were truly amazing and I never would have survived the first weeks back without your love and support.

I will never forget what we did these couple of weeks. With our many trips to Walmart, Ice Cream Shack, and Walmart again, we made bonds that never could have happened. We also picked one amazing pledge class (I am hoping so because I am writing this the Thursday before all the madness begins.) We have so many adventures to go on and I am excited to go on these with all of you.

To my amazing roommate. I am so excited to live with you the rest of the year. So far we have become closer and we also have one fantastic room. I am so excited to continue to support each other and have great late night conversations. I am also so glad that we get to room together. We are going to have one kick butt year.

To my best friends. I have no idea what I would do without you. You have made moving back to school so seamless and fun. I love going on food runs and going to places to run last minute errands. I am so excited that I was reunited with you and I am ready to see what the next eight months hold.

To the seniors in Alpha Chi. You have one more year. Make it count. This also means that I have one more year to love you and see you everyday before you move on to bigger and greater things. I know you guys are going to do so well where ever you end up and I am glad I got to spend two years with you.

To the lovely juniors. You are half way there. I am so blessed to have you to look up to each and every day and you each inspire me to do better. I am so glad I have two more years with you and I am excited to see what will happen.

To my beloved pledge class. You guys are the greatest thing to ever happen to me. I love each and everyone of you so much and I am so glad I get to spend four years getting to know you and bonding in ways people can't imagine.

To the new pledge class. You don't know it yet, but you are entering the greatest sisterhood that the world has. I am so excited to get to know and learn how amazing you really are.

To my future little. You are out there and you don't know it yet, but I already love you and I am so excited to welcome you into the best chapter ever.

Thank you for making the start of this year so magical and I can't wait to see what happens.

Love,

One of your best friends

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
