The “Drake Era” is amongst us, people. Let’s face it. Drake completely revamped and overturned Meredith Grey’s “person” by replacing it with our “right hand.” For those of you who don’t know (and probably should), your right hand, your go-to, can be your best friend, boyfriend/girlfriend or any other person who’s consistently there for you whenever you need them. When you first hear the lyrics to Drake’s song “Right Hand,” you’ll automatically know who your right hand, your go-to, is. If not, you better start looking for one, 'cause they’re awesome.
You’re my right hand, you’re my go-to.
I go to you for any problem I may have. Whether it’s when I have no motivation to clean my room or when I need someone to tell me to get myself together, you’re the person I’m going to go to (hence the go-to part).
Told me everything about you, that’s a bold move.
Let’s be real: not everyone is trustworthy. However, once you have a right hand, a go-to, chances are you’re probably their right hand and go-to as well. They’re going to spill their guts about themselves because they know you’re going to have their backs for them.
I know that you’re out here and there’s things you gotta go through.
Who could be more understanding of what you’re facing at the moment? Clearly, your right hand, go-to will always be understanding and ask if there’s someone they need to knock out for you.
Just know that these streets just don’t love you like I do, and they never will.
Your right hand, go-to might be your bestie from home or from college. Whatever the case may be, you’re from a common area. No matter what goes on in that area or who’s in it talking smack, you’ll always love your right hand, your go-to. You’ll always love them and defend them whatever the streets have to say.
Whoever your right hand, go-to is, you should text them right now and thank them. Thank them for never leaving your side, thank them for reminding you that you’re not crazy (no matter how many weird texts you send to them), and just thank them that they’re able to experience the “Drake Era” with you (because you wouldn’t want to experience it without them, anyway).
