They say college is where you meet the people you will hold close for the rest of your life. Whether that be a spouse, a late-night study buddy, a coworker, or someone who will help you take on the world.
That's exactly what you are, best friend.
We've done some pretty crazy things together, like screaming "Jingle Bell Rock" as we pull out of the church parking lot after the evening service and late-night study parties that end with cuddling our textbooks as we fall asleep on the study room floor. We've found ourselves in the middle of prank wars, awkward drama, and off on midnight quests to Wal-Mart for cookie dough that we almost always end up eating raw. We've worn duct tape dresses in public and glared at unwanted exes on campus. We are young. Random. Bizarre. Ridiculous. And yet, somehow, we've managed to make it through the chaos of college together.
In short, you are the best.
You are my exact opposite. Half of the time, I don't even know what you are talking about. We never agree on important topics like fashion and politics. We fight like an old married couple. I'll read poetry for hours while you will only come to poetry slams with me for the free food. I prefer Android, you love your iPhone. The list goes on and on. There is no reason that our friendship should work, but somehow, it does.
Our craziness is just similar enough to work. You are the Sam to my Frodo, the Jane to my Elizabeth, the Captain America to my Iron Man, the Ron to my Harry. On our own, we are powerful. Together, we will either save the world or cause World War III.
Thank you, partner-in-crime, for putting up with my shenanigans. Thanks for being my therapist, my second mom, my advisor, my assistant, and my wingman. Thanks for helping me through heartbreak, celebrating my successes, and supporting me no matter how ridiculous my ideas my seem at the time. I don't know what I would do without you. My life would be so ridiculously boring if you weren't here to spice things up. So thank you.
I can't wait for what happens next!
