Dear Mom And Dad As I Leave For College,

I'm going to start this article with a thank you.

You are the people that have helped me get this far and because of that you guys deserve the world. There's no way I could have done it without you guys and your constant love and support. You drove me to school, helped me with projects, drove me to soccer practices, dance rehearsals, and chorus concerts. You were there for all of my accomplishments and were there during my failures or when something didn't quite go as planned. You've done everything for me and for that I am extremely grateful.

By the time this is published it'll be around a week until you're moving me into my dorm. You're finally letting go of your youngest child. Right now we're going through the exciting stages of buying bedding and dorm decorations and last minute purchases. I'm not sure yet how to feel about it all. It's defiantly bittersweet and I'm sure you guys feel the same. You're also probably just as excited for me as I am. I'm finally embracing what it's like to be an adult and going out on my own. I'll be a few hours away from home in a new town. But before I go here are some things I want to tell you guys.

I want you to know that I'll always remember what both of you have taught me. You guys have done a fantastic job of raising my siblings and me and we couldn't have asked for better parents. There will be times that I may make mistakes the next fours years and I want to let you guys know that it will be okay. Thanks to you I know right from wrong.

I can't promise that I won't live on chicken nuggets and Mac n cheese, but I can promise that I'll try to enjoy more of the cafeteria food then just my go to's.

But most importantly remember that I love both of you guys so much. No matter how busy every membe of our family gets, we're still a family. I know I'll always have you guys to come home to. And know that I will miss you guys very much. It's going to be a hard adjustment, but I'm confident in knowing that we'll be okay.

This may be an end but it's also a beginning and it's going to be great.

Love,

Your College-Bound Daughter

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
