Dear Bro,

This might come as a surprise to you, but you're one of the most important people in my life. However, it did not always seem like that while growing up. With you being six years older than me, we never really saw eye to eye throughout my youth and teenage years. I actually kind of despised you for years for making fun of me and not including me in your fun. Unfortunately, I did not understand how important you would truly be to my life path and who I am as a person.

As I grew up, I saw you fail and succeed. I saw you struggle through high school academically, and flourish in popularity. I saw you leave for college, and come back a more academically poised individual. I cried beside you after the passing of our grandpa. I watched you struggle to find employment, and now I am watching you succeed in your career. You have been kicked to the curb numerous times in life, and have always risen stronger. Through all your mistakes, achievements, struggles, and endeavors, I have learned so much. You have served as a trail blazer for the person I am today. Never have I heard, "You can't," or "I'm not proud of you," leave your mouth. Since the day I was born, you have always been one of my biggest supporters. It just took me 21 years to realize such a thing. I cannot thank you enough for always having my back when it is Mom and Dad versus me.

At 12, I could have never comprehended the fact you would become one of my best friends in a decade or so. We have developed such a strong bond and have gone through a lot both together and apart. You have been such a strong motivator while I have been away at school, and I strive for excellence because I have people like you in my life. I look up to you more than you will ever realize. All of your achievements serve as reminders of what I can accomplish after I leave college. You are such an overall great person, and are receiving everything you want out of life. Grandpa would be truly proud of all your accomplishments, and your place as my role model. I know that you will always stand beside me no matter what comes across my path in life.

All I ask is to let me thank you. As time progresses and we get older, I will repay you for everything that you have done. I might never be able to truly pay off everything, but I am surely going to try. No matter if we are a few feet or a thousand miles away, you will always be my brother, role-model, and best friend. Until I see you again stay safe in your travels and at work and...

Never forget how much you mean to your little brother.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
