Hey Buddy,
With being away from home, I know we don't always have the most normal brother-sister relationship. Sometimes I only get the privilege of seeing you a few times a month, and I know that you don't quite understand why I have to be away so often.
When we do see each other, though, we have a lot of fun. I will always have random facts to share with you, and you will always keep me up to date on the latest and most coolest superhero. In a way, you're keeping me young, and I have no excuse not to be a hip older sister.
I wish I could say that things may return back to "normal" one day -- back to the days when I lived at home permanently and when we saw each other more than anybody else. However, as much as I love you, please don't wish that on me. You'll understand what I mean one day.
Isn't it kind of funny how we get along more now that I'm gone? My patience with you isn't so thin and my nagging has decreased on a multitude of levels. With our age barrier, I sometimes forget to remember that you're still a kid. I sometimes try to treat you like you're older than you really are, and I am truly sorry for that. Because I don't want you to grow up as fast as you are, and I want you to enjoy your youth for as long as you can.
I want you to take chances and to always think outside of the box. It's okay to try new hobbies, sports, and instruments. It's perfectly okay for you to be your own person. Of course I'd love to see you attempt the hobbies of my past, but I also want you to figure out what you love most on your own.
I love who you are now, and I have no doubt that I'll love the man that you grow up to be.
I know you don't want to hear this, but listen to mom and dad. Learn from my mistakes, bud. They really are looking out for your best interest. Whether they're bugging you about your video games, bedtime, or anything else, try not to fight back too much. Because that just makes you a pain in the booty. And arguing back will only get you in trouble. Don't say I didn't try to warn you.
But, when the going gets tough, you can always call me. Hearing from you is a highlight of my day, for you remind me not to take life too seriously. You remind me that life is good as long as we keep in mind the simple, wonderful things -- like hearing you laugh.
Now that I'm done being mushy-gushy, I'll leave you alone for now. But always remember that I'm here for you. (And that you're my favorite!)
I love you to infinity and beyond,
Your Big Sis
