Who knew one person could mean so much to you? To my cousin, I will forever love you and cherish all the memories we have made so far and can’t wait for all the memories we have to come.
Where do I even start? To be honest, I remember when I was told that I was going to have a little cousin- I was upset because I was no longer going to be the baby of the family and you were going to get all the attention. But, you being born was the best thing that ever happened to me, honestly. From the day you were born, seeing you in the nursery, I knew there was something special about you, even though I was only 6. From the time you can home, I always got so excited to see you at the river almost every weekend.
You have been there for me, through some of the hardest and some of the best times of my life. High school was a really bad time and I knew you would always be there for me, allow me to come stay, or just text me when I needed it most. I still have on my mirror at home something you wrote, junior year, and it was “STAY STRONG BOOP.” That is something I look at every time I am home and will never erase.
We have so many memories together, that I will cherish forever! From all the boating weekends we have spent together; oh remember that time I got you to jump off the pier for the first time and we went back and told your Mom? Or to the beach trips we have gone on- remember when we tried to all ride the banana boat and I could not hold on for the life of me, almost fell in the ocean, but fell in the middle of the banana boat? That will be a trip I never forget! One of my favorites things that we still do together, to this day is our sleepovers. They don’t happen as often, but I still love just coming over, playing that stupid cow racing game on the Wii, talking about life, and just being us. Then there is all the family events that we have to always text each other, let each one know what we are wearing and see what time we are both going to leave to get somewhere, so we arrive at the same time.
Before I end this article, I just want to tell you how special you are to me, even though I talked about some of this earlier. You are the little sister I never had and mean more to me than anyone in this world. You know all my secrets, put up with all my craziness, and still love me. I have so many pictures of you and I in my dorm, and I look at them every day and thank God for putting you in my life. I pray that whatever you do in your future, you’ll be happy with and successful at, which I know you will because you have so much determination.
I just want to let you know that wherever I decide to go teach or live in the future, nothing will change between us. You can still come visit, text or call me about your day, and you can always send me Snapchats, and preferably of Gram doing the whip. I love you to the moon and more!
