Right now, it's graduation season, and there is a chance that you are walking across the stage right now. I am so proud that you got through those tough high school years and you pushed through it, and got accepted to Saint Leo University. You picked an amazing school. I hope you are living up your summer and having tons of fun. I'm excited to meet you in August when it is time to move into your dorm. As you settle down and mom and dad are gone, you will feel a little lonely because chances are you won't know anyone. But all I want you to do is go out. Make friends in your hall, in your classes, and at orientation. It will all be worth it. Every other freshman has the same emotions you are having right now.

Classes are starting and I know you are confused about these girls wearing some form of weird letters on their shirts, you see pretty much every other girl wearing them. Us girls wearing them are apart of Greek life, we all took a bid to join the best sorority there is for the rest of our lives. You will soon to talk to girls from different organizations and learn about them all.

It is now time for recruitment week, and just a heads up, this WILL be the most stressful week you will ever encounter. But, it is the best week of your life and you will not want it any other way. Your mind will be filled with so many thoughts, your stomach will be filled with so many butterflies, and your heart will be filled with so many emotions.

It is now bid day and let me just say how happy I am that you accepted your bid to Alpha Sigma Tau! I'm so happy that you decided to join the best organization there is. You now have an abundance of sisters that will be there to pick you up when you are down. We will all always be there to support you and help you along your journey here at school, and also for the rest of your life.

But, I am the lucky one. I get the privilege to be your big.

I can not wait to spoil you with a lot of glitter filled canvases and presents. I am excited about the late night calls/text when you need help, and know: when you need help, at any time of the day, I am going the be there for you. I can not wait to not just be your big, but also be your mentor within AST. I am excited for those late nights we will spend having tons of fun, having movie marathons and I hope you love Disney and Grey's Anatomy just as much as I do (it is OK if you do not, because you will) . I am excited for our Dunkin' Donut runs, are spontaneous trips, and just spending time with you.

I hope to be the best big for you, just like my big was perfect for me.

Just like you accepted the bid to be in the best organization, you are also going to to be in the best family line.

Get ready to wear your crown, princess! See you on bid day when you run home!

Love, Big.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
