To the best roommate I could ever have,
I'm not exactly sure how I convinced you to live in the same room as me for a whole year, but securing you as a roommate was probably one of the best decisions I've made. I honestly can't imagine living with anyone else as of now, although one day (hopefully, a far away one) I will have to leave the comfort that your presence brings to my life.
Thanks for being a chill person while still bringing structure to our room. Without you, I would probably live in a pile of clothes and have Nutella smeared across one of my cheeks at all times. You are the perfect balance between a mom, a friend, and a sister, which makes me want to keep our room clean so as to not disappoint you or gross out visitors.
You are the best person to come home to every day. You know every detail about my life here at school and you never judge me when I make dumb decisions. You can tell exactly how I'm feeling the instant you see my face, so when the sh*t has hit the fan I don't have to say anything. Instead, I just look at you and immediately get a hug. You're also thrilled for me when I have good news. You're so selfless and always so ready to be here for me in whatever capacity I may need you.
The fact that we have very different friend groups is one of the best things about our dynamic. You know my friends. I mean, they're in our room (and my insta pics, which you are a gem for always liking) all the time. You like them and are genuinely happy that I have a great squad, and I feel the same about your crew. The best part about us though is that we aren't in each other's friend groups. You're the person I can come to when I need a break from my squad, and I'm yours. You always have my back, even when I'm being ridiculous, which is all the time.
Thank you for laughing at my jokes even when they aren't funny. Thank you for buying large jars of Nutella with your Costco membership. Thank you for letting me borrow your clothes. Thank you for texting me from across the dining hall that I look hot today. Thank you for putting up with my music choices. Thank you for being the heaviest sleeper I've ever met so I don't feel like an a**hole when I come in late or make noise at 2 am. Thank you for putting aside your schedule to buy me pizza, salad, and watch a movie with me when I was sad over a boy who didn't matter. Thank you for agreeing to live with me.
I'm so grateful for all that you are in my life, and I hope you know I'll always be here for you too.
Love,
Your very lucky roommate
