Dear Bestie,
You just graduated! Congrats, love. Now it's time for the real world. You will be fine, though, you have always been one of the most driven and independent people I know. It is crazy to think that our years in school together have come to a close, as you move into this new and exciting season of your life. God has blessed me with a beautiful friend- better yet, a sister- that I know I will have forever. No one could replace your spot in my heart because our bond is one that is nearly unbreakable.
It is going to be hard without you next year. You will no longer be right across the street, so I'll be picking up my phone to talk to you from now on, instead of my keys. You won't be here anymore for the occasional mental breakdown I have because school is too much, or because these boys have me messed up. But I'll call you when the tears subside; just to hear you say that it gets better, one more time. I'll never forget our late night Sonic runs when we both need a break from all the stress that school has to offer. There is just something about ice cream that lessens the anxiety, no matter how bad it seems to be.
We have grown so much together, learning more from each other every day. Our relationships with Christ have been greatly impacted by our friendship, continually disciplining each other and walking together in fellowship with the Lord. You have loved me through the good times and the bad times, I am so undeserving of such a loyal friend like you. You've seen the worst parts of me and have stuck around because you truly understand the power of the Gospel and the love that Jesus has for us.
Like Hannah Montana said, you're a true friend and you're here until the end. I know distance isn't easy for most people, but we aren't like most people...so expect a couple FaceTime calls a week because I will definitely miss seeing your pretty face all the time. Needless to say, you will never have to worry about being "out of the loop."
Nevertheless, I am so excited to see you move into this brand new season of your life! The world is your playground, it's your time to build your life; making it all you want it to be, with the endless opportunities ahead. You will fall, but you will get back up and dust yourself off- remembering that God is the one that is truly in control. I love you so so much, and I know one day you will be saying these same things to me when I graduate. But until then, have fun adulting! Let me know what it's like, so maybe I can learn from a few more of your mistakes. Love you forever and always sister.
Miss you already,
your college best friend.
