An Open Letter To Lifelong Friends

Dear Lifelong Friends,

Thank you for literally always being there for me. It's true that friendships come and go, but there is something very special about people who can maintain their friendships throughout the years.

Thank you for truly knowing me. When I have a problem, or need advice for something, I know that I can always come to you because you know everything about me. You understand how I feel about everything and you can help me come to the best conclusions.

I love how we can do absolutely nothing, and still have the best time. Being friends for such a long time, means that we have done many things together and sometimes we can't figure out what to do, so we just sit around and watch TV and talk and still have a fun time.

Thank you for letting me have another family. Over the years, your family has become my family. Because of you, I have a bigger support system and I wouldn't trade it for the world. There is nothing better than coming over to your house and being welcomed by so many loving people. I know that your parents would do anything to help me because I am basically part of the family.

Thank you for never judging me. You have seen my good sides and my not so good sides and you have stuck by my side through all of it. I can't even begin to explain how thankful I am for everything you have helped me with.

You always feel like home. We don't get to see each other every day, and sometimes we don't see each other for a few months, but when we do see each other, it's like no time has passed and we pick up exactly where we left off. You always make me laugh and feel so happy, and when I leave, I always feel sad for a little while.

Thank you for being there for all of the milestones I have made. Whether it was graduating from pre-school or graduating from high school, you have been there for everything that I have accomplished and I appreciate it so much.

Even though we both have changed so much and have experienced many different things, our friendship has stayed intact and that is so important to me. There are not enough words to describe how much you and your friendship mean to me.

Most importantly, thank you for showing me true friendship, love and kindness. You have a heart of gold and I cannot wait to see how our lives continue with each other in it. You are my very best friend, and my biggest supporter and I wouldn't change you for the world. I love you.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
