Dear everyone,
The year is winding down, 2015 is coming to an end. This year definitely has been a roller coaster, riding through the ups and fading through the downs. Yet I'm proud to say that we've all made it to the end of the year. But, just like every year, there are those special individuals, like you, who deserve special recognition from your very own. You made an impact this year and I cannot thank you enough in any other way.
To my parents: Thank you both for helping me become the person I am today. Raising me was definitely not a walk in the park, so thank you for not giving up on me. To my mom, thank you for being honest with me about everything that happens and everything we share in life. Without you, this year, there was no way I would have developed myself as a better person and would not have known what to do about my college and future career. To my dad, thank you for being the greatest best friend I could ever ask for. You were always there to hear my rants and always helped my find the better solution. Also Dad, thank you for showing me what hard work means because, without you, I would not have complained much about my classes, and yet manage to finish with a better average GPA that I hoped to accomplish.
To my relatives: Thank you for being there for my family when we needed you the most. We certainly had many struggles this year, yet you had the heart to help me and my family succeed. Thank you for all those good times that we always used to have when we went to parties and for making them more exciting than they would have been. Also, I really thank you for all the great connections I've made along the way. Those helped me connect to society; developing my character and my professional skills.
To my mentors: Thank you for guiding me in the right direction in my career. All the support you have given me this year is too inspirational and I hope to do the same for the next generation. You helped me shape my college career and I am a student leader today because of you. Thank you for being a mentor, but also for being a friend who gave me constant motivation.
To my friends: Thank you for everything. Literally everything. You have been the best support system during my college career and I can't thank you enough. Even if you are not significant in my life, thank you for being there whenever we met because I am sure we all had a great time and look forward to meeting again in the future.
To my closest of friends: Thank you for being there for me no matter what the situation happens to be. You always make me feel like you are my special go-to family. Everything is so memorable, from our hangouts to our struggles. The days and nights that we spend together with the constant laughs that we shared and the sorrows that we went through together will always be remembered. Thank you for putting up with me when I ran on four or fewer hours of sleep. You listened to me complain about all my classes and my professors and the all the stress college decided to pile on. Thank you for providing the best advice when I needed you the most. And of course, thank you for helping me up, after laughing at me and my stupid mistakes. That is what true friendship is all about.
To my haters: You always give a special reason not to hate you. Thank you most of all because you helped me realize I have the potential to be a better person one day. There is always space for improvement in the areas where I am lacking and for which I'm criticized. Thank you for helping me reach my greatest potential, because knocking me down will always bring me back up stronger, faster, and smarter.
No matter who you are or how much we've known each other, just remember that I will be always there for you. Be positive and always hope for the best. You all changed my life for the better this year and I am very grateful for that. There is still a much longer way to go and I am certainly hopeful that things will be on the greener side next year!
Sincerely,
Shashank
