If you have been on any social media sites this past week, you would know that the Stanford swim stud, who can swim a 400 free in three minutes and 58 seconds, was convicted of rape. Keep in mind his swim times are of the same value as the conviction, since the Washington Post glued them to the end of their article talking about the trial. This happened about a year ago and is now just finding the light, but only because after the court system took their sweet time to make sure a Stanford alumnus would be the judge on this case. Because that's not biased whatsoever. Since his family, friends and victim wrote him letters, I decided to write my own.
Dear Rapist Brock Turner,
Yes, that will always be the label that people should refer you too. So you want to blame your 20 minutes of “action” on the drinking and partying that you were a part of. As your sister stated, “You never partied before” and were always the golden boy of the family. However, when you were in your teens, you were caught running from police and underage drinking. So unless someone forced you to drink it, or you thought it was Kool Aid, I can’t say that you don’t know how to responsibly drink.
Anyway, I hope you understand that it was not the partying lifestyle that caused this, but your own sick twisted mind. That you thought it would be OK to rape an unconscious girl behind a frat house’s dumpster. You claimed that you thought she wanted it and said she enjoyed her time. Because the sign of pleasure is pine needles in your hair, cuts all over your body and, of course, no response. She was an unconscious girl who, if you’re such the golden boy you truly are, should have helped and not raped. You can’t say it wasn’t rape because your actions are the exact definition of what rape is. Sex without full, enthusiastic consent is rape. This warrior of a woman will now be scared for the rest of your life, while the six months of jail time you were supposed to serve are now only four.
As Congressmen Ted Poe but it, “Victims like this remarkable woman deserve justice on their side.” Not the scumbags like you who think they are the victims and are entitled to have people feel sorry for them. You cannot blame the frat party environment and most certainly say that this girl asked for it. For the world’s safety, I hope you get the right punishment.
You do not deserve to be happy and enjoy the steak your equally messed up daddy grills for you. You drag girls behind dumpsters and create their worst nightmare. Then you deny the entire thing. I think I speak for most sane people when I say I hope my future daughter never meets you at a party, and my son never becomes the sick monster that you truly are.
Sincerely,
Delaney Jacobson
