Hey there,

First off, I want to tell you to take a deep breath. We’ve all been there before. You woke up 10 minutes late, you spilled coffee down your new shirt, your phone didn’t charge all night and now you are patiently preparing yourself for the worst that could happen for the remainder of your day. That's not the end of it. Three days ago your significant other left you, you made shit tips at work and have no idea what to do about college. I know how you are feeling: defeated, overwhelmed, depressed, and you feel sort of like a failure. Want to hear something refreshing? You are going to be fine. Also, it is OK to not be OK!

I want to remind you, in moments like these, when the life has become far too much, I still think you are beyond beautiful. Even with tears rolling down your rosy cheeks and the frustration begging to be freed from your tight lips. When your hair has your hand marks embedded inside of it and your fisted hands turn white from all of the anger. The breath taking way your jaw locks like cement because you're beyond stressed. Especially when you wear every ounce of feeling on your face whether it be defeat, sadness, or anger. I see glorious chaos. You are human and you are art. In these moments, you make others feel something, you make yourself feel something.

These are moments that test you. You were not given these awful situations to feel weak, but to prove to yourself how strong you are when you may have forgotten. These times must be appreciated. Yes, they suck, but at least you have moments. You are fortunate enough to feel the good and the bad for someone out there isn't able to feel anything at all. You are not having a bad life, you are having a bad day or couple of days. I can assure you that it will fade. The storm will blow over and a fluorescent rainbow will await you. You have to get through the bad so that you can appreciate the good. Life is a constant roller coaster of ups and downs. But, don't let it win. Don't lose your faith, your life, or yourself in the disarray.

Listen to me. I know life is far from easy. It doesn't help when everyone is in this world feels so much pressure, ya know? Realize on top of your struggle you will have everyone judging you. Whether you are reading this and are a male or female, gay or straight, young or old. If you are young, you are told to figure out your life before you can even vote or drink. If you are someone who is different from the what society thinks is the norm, you are forced to change or only act the way you feel when everyone else deems it to be appropriate. If you are older, you are expected to act your age and be wise. Truth be told, it is acceptable to not be someone's standard of perfect and to not be on all of the time. To be human is to be broken and I think broken has it's own allure.

Therefore, take it from Bob Marley and don't worry about a thing cuz' every little thing is gonna be alright. You will get through this struggle and many more, only to appreciate the good days more than ever.

From,

A Survivor of Struggle

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
