Dear Service Dogs,

First off, I want to say a huge thank you. Thank for your service, for protecting and aiding people with disabilities, and for providing assistance to police and the army every day of your life. You have not only helped a person one on one, but you have helped and saved all of us from more than we probably know. Thank you for being willing to give your life for people who aren't even the same species as you are. Thank you for providing and doing things us humans are incapable of doing. You are amazing and I hope you know that.

Thank you for loving us no matter how loud we yell or how bad our day may be. Thank you for not being judgmental; for humans it can be hard to not judge a book by its cover. This doesn't stop or reduce your compassion in any way. You take the challenge and assist any further obstacles. Thank you for being my friend forever in good times and bad. Thank you for wiping my tears and cuddling close when I need a friend. Thank you for making sure I am okay for now and always. Thank you for looking out for my friends, family, and really, everyone. We could learn from all of that compassion and love, that there are no boundaries of love even through the relationship of a dog and their owner.

Thank you for guiding me, for you have taught me more than many. I consider you family, you have given everything you have to me. We take care of each other; it's an unbreakable bond we share. You always trust me and I always trust you. People may not think you are smart, loving, or able, but forget those people. I know you can do so much.

You have given so many people hope. Some may have not been able to do anything without your assistance and I tip my hat to you. You do a job in which no human can do. You have more patience and awareness than us all. You have given confidence, security, and safety to many that never thought they could even leave their home. You have given the blind a pair of eyes, the deaf a pair of ears, and the lonely a best friend. You do more than what is asked of you. You work every single second of your life making sure your owner is safe. I don't know how to thank you for your willing sacrifice to serve.

You are one of the most amazing creatures. You love, give compassion, provide safety, create friendships, and so much more. I am in awe of your great sacrifice and daily duty you serve for not only your owner, but for everyone. You put a smile on my face every day and I know that all you care about is me and my well being. I cannot thank you more for what you do and continue to do. I love you so much and I know I could not do the things I do without you.

Much love,

Your dog owner

Taylor Swift in orange dress playing a moss-covered piano on stage with bright lights.

A three-and-a-half-hour runtime. Nine Eras. Eleven outfit changes. Three surprise songs. Zero breaks. One unforgettable evening. In the past century, no other performer has put on an electric performance quite like Taylor Swift, surpassing her fans ‘wildest dreams’. It is the reason supporters keep coming back to her shows each year. Days later, I’m still in awe of the spectacle ‘Miss Americana’ puts on every few days in a new city. And, like one of Taylor’s exes, has me smiling as I reminisce about the memories of the night we spent together.

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.

Sister | Brother Style - Word Press

For a moment your world is spinning. The phone alarm has just scared you awake and you’re flooded by daunting thoughts of the day ahead. You have three assignments due and little time to work on them because of your job. You’re running late because you’ve hit snooze one to many times after yesterday’s long hours. You dizzily reach for a hoodie, craving its comfort, and rush for a speedy exit, praying you will have time to pick up coffee. Does this sound familiar?
