Dear Mom and Dad,

First and foremost, I want to say thank you. Thank you for always answering when I call you and never judging me for anything. Thank you for reading my English papers and sending me holiday themed packages any chance you get. Thank you for the endless "I love you" text messages and telling me about everything cute the dogs do while I'm gone. Thank you for always making sure I have laundry detergent and giving me enough cold medicine to open a pharmacy. Thank you for everything that you do for me. Even if I thanked you every day for the rest of my life, it would never come close to repaying you.

I know throughout my life I have not always been the most appreciative, mostly because I never realized everything you did for me. From driving me all over the place during high school to listening to me complain about the endless drama, you were always there for me. Even when I was a pain in the butt (which I know I could be and may still be), you always stuck by my side. I know I didn't always say "thank you," but I want you to know how much it meant to me.

Regardless of the fact that I am away, I want to remind you that you are 100 percent involved in my everyday life. Even though we are so far away, all you have done for me for 19 years has stayed with me until today. I am truly my mom and dad's daughter. I eat Skinny Pop while watching HGTV all the time, and get way to into sports games playing on TV. You have shaped my daily routines (coffee runs every morning), and helped form my decision-making process. Not to mention I see your faces all over the pictures on my walls, and I know you are only a phone call away.

As hard as it has been without you around every day, I feel like we have become even closer. When I'm home I don't mind explaining how to delete emails, or cleaning my room (I might still throw a little fit). We always have so much to talk about, and I'm not just complaining about petty high school fights anymore. I know now that you have so much more to teach me than just how to deal with silly arguments.

I just want you to know, I am so grateful for everything you have done and will do for me. I love you both endlessly!

Xoxo,

Your daughter

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
