Dear Freshman Year,
It's crazy that it is almost over. When people said that this time would go by fast, I really didn’t believe them. I always thought that it would be the slowest school year with being away from home and not having anyone familiar around me. I was so wrong. My freshman year has been one crazy ride, and I wouldn’t trade it for the world.
This year, I have made some of my very best friends. From being a part of a sports team, joining a sorority, and just getting to know the people in my hall and in my classes, I know that these people are going to be in my life forever. It’s so fun to look back at the beginning of the year and look to see how much has changed. Its so cool to see how many new memories we all have with each other and makes us wonder how many new memories we have yet to make.
This year has also taught me a lot of things. I have had to deal with some of the hardest situations of my life this year. I have had to make some of the hardest decisions, learn how to be away from home, and how to rely on myself. Freshman year has taught me a lot of things about how to be independent and how to remind yourself that it will all work out and eventually be okay. Freshman year has shaped me into a totally different (in a good way) person.
Freshman year has also taught me how to be excited and passionate about learning. Once I decided what I want to do and where I possibly want to go after graduation, I became so excited to schedule classes and meet with professors that are in the field that I am studying. To be able to take classes that you are genuinely interested in make all of the years of high school and prerequisites first semester totally worth it.
Finally, freshman year taught me that this really is the best four years of my life. From late nights with my best friends to late nights in the library, I wouldn’t trade any second of this year for the world. It has taught me so much about myself and where I want to be in life.
Freshman year truly was a memorable one. Thank you so much for everyone that stuck by my side this year, I can’t wait for more of our crazy adventures. Let’s just hope that the next three years slow down a little bit.
