Dear Mom,
You have taught me so much. I don’t think I will ever have the words to ever compare, but it’s worth a shot, right?
You have taught me how to love unconditionally. No matter what I have done or the mistakes I have made, you are there to wrap me in your arms and love me.
You have taught me how to forgive. Every time I have taken something out on you, given you attitude, or yelled at you; you sat there and took it but loved me just the same. The moment I realized I did those sort of things and apologize, you are there to say it’s ok and truly forgive me without a second thought.
You have taught me to care. The way you serve our household is incredible. No matter how tired you are, if one of us asks for something you are there to do it. No matter how old we are getting, you always spoil us.
You have taught me to laugh and smile. Even if I am crying from all the pain that came at me that day, you know just what to say to make me feel better. You always are cracking jokes to make me laugh or just laughing at me (out of love, of course).
You have taught me to respect others. You love to serve others and I have definitely have picked that up from you. You want to be a helping hand to many and I thank you for teaching me to have a serving heart.
You have taught me that life throws a lot at you, but you just have to trust and know there is a lesson behind every situation. Through that, you have taught me to look at the bright side of things.
You have taught me to be strong. You can face the toughest battles, but you still have a smile on your face. You can be in so much pain, but keep cooking dinner because you know our family needs it. You could be holding back tears yourself, but you are the one wiping away the tears from my face instead.
Most of all you have taught me to be a best friend. You have been by my side, supporting and believing in me with your whole heart for my whole life.
I want to thank you for all that you have done and will continue to do in my life. I don’t say these things enough, but you deserve to be reminded daily of how great of a mom you are and how much of a blessing you are to my life. So thank you, Mom! I love you.
Love,
Your Loving Child
