An Open Letter To Hillary Clinton

I just really want to know.

Secretary Clinton,

I am by no means a political genius nor do I understand a good portion of your political jargon. You see, I am your average voter, what you would categorize as a "deplorable" because when I cast my ballot on Tuesday, November 8th, it will be a vote for Mr. Donald J. Trump.

I congratulate you on the nomination. It is truly an honor of the highest esteem. You've made it to the top of the ladder. Kudos to you, but this is where I draw the line, and the congratulations end. I don't write this to be intentionally hurtful or rude. Your answers to my questions most likely will never change my vote, but I, as a registered voter of the United States of America, deserve to know. We all do.

This letter does not have the capacity to cover every concern that I would like to discuss, and really that's sad. I understand that you clearly have more experience on Capitol Hill than most, but what do you have to show for it? Are we a better country for having you in office? You say that America needs to change, but aren't you just more of the same? The fact that you are a woman isn't the change we need. Real change in mindset, actions, and beliefs is what we are searching for. Donald Trump is right. America does need to be great again because we are headed down a dark path. And our leaders refuse to step off their high horses long enough to see that the so-called changes being made at their jurisdiction are only making matters worse.

I can't help but think you had to be just slightly nauseated when you watched the rainbow gay flag lighting shadow our beautiful capitol. And that's exactly what it did; it shadowed it. Reflecting not hope but the corruption in our nation. You Secretary Clinton, condemned gay marriage in one of your 2000 interviews, quite the adverse of what you have been claiming.

"Marriage has got historic, religious, and moral content that goes back to the beginning of time, and I think a marriage is as a marriage has always been, between a man and a woman." - Hillary Clinton

Oh yeah, but those are just words, and opinions change, right? If words are just words, then why is your entire campaign dedicated to exposing Donald Trump's words from years ago about situations that are politically irrelevant? They aren't just words then are they? The thing is Mrs. Clinton, yes, Donald Trump has said some terribly horrible things about women-- things that should never be said.. But is your husband so innocent or even you; what about those remarks you made about Ms. Lewinsky? I'm not condoning his remarks by any means, but Mrs. Clinton, actions speak louder than words.

Those emails, Mrs. Clinton. Benghazi, Mrs. Clinton. Why? Thousands classified emails left your fingertips. You knew it. It was intentional. You thought you were above the law, and you still do. What if those emails had ended up in just the wrong inbox, because it could have happened. Any other citizen would have been long locked up, in an orange jumpsuit, with a hefty bond, but I guess money talks.

Benghazi was your responsibility, and you just neglected them because you could. How can we trust you with even more responsibility? In the working class, if you you fail at your job, you don't get promoted. I'm sure your father's drape-makers know all about that, but I think you've forgotten.

I've heard over and over again about the strides that you've made for children's healthcare. That is great; you really should be proud. But, Mrs. Clinton, it's just a political agenda. You say that a pregnancy can be terminated at 37 weeks. That's a choice alright; it's a choice to murder. The fetus becomes a baby at conception. How can you say you are an advocate for children's rights when you advocate taking away their right to live? It isn't logical. It's sickening and corrupt. A baby delivered at 37 weeks is considered a full term baby, healthy in most all cases. But yet you say if the "mother" chooses to abort, that's completely okay, just a choice. Just the word mother indicates that you know your stance is wrong. If it's just a fetus, why does it have a mother? I think I know what your fellow Methodists believe on that.

Mrs. Clinton, it takes a lot of stamina, strength, and mental sharpness to lead this country. There won't be time for "rests" and "breaks." For four years, our president has a job to do, a pretty important one. I understand that you can't control sickness; God's in charge of that, and this nation too by the way. Always remember that. It's going to be worse than the campaign and the debates. I am legitimately concerned about your physical capability to be our Commander-in- Chief. But you resort to your Hillary ways and try to lie and hide and cover-up. It's not just hurting yourself. We are affected. Stop.

This bias media. When I get to heaven, I am going to ask how much money was flaunted and slid and handed to make this election what it is. It is absolutely ridiculous. You know it as well as I do, and I bet you shimmy the whole time you watch it.

Mrs. Clinton, as you can see, I have a whole lot of questions. Donald Trump isn't perfect, but he's real. He says exactly what he thinks, but you do the opposite. You hide it and twist it and turn it, we don't need that in the oval office. We don't need that on Main Street. America doesn't need a woman president like you insist that we do. We need Jesus. We need to remember what made us great to begin with. We need answers.

Sincerely,

A Very Concerned American

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
