Amy Schumer: The Best In The Biz

A comedian is defined by the infamous “dictionary.com” as an actor in comedy, a writer of comedy, or any comical or amusing person. Although that definition may seem dull, Amy Schumer certainly is not. An unfamiliar face only months ago, Amy is quickly climbing the ranks of the comedy kings and queens of the generation.

The 33-year-old Manhattan born is stunning everyone with her crude and unusually honest humor. Amy's greatest bits have come from when she is making a fool of herself. After being named as one of the worlds most influential people by Time magazine, Schumer was invited to the red carpet event in celebration. Here she made quite the first impression on Kimye when she dove in front of them during a photo shoot with the paparazzi. They were less than impressed, but the rest of America fell in love with her.

It’s one thing to make us, the common people, actually “laugh out loud” but Amy’s appearance on "The Ellen Show" left comedy legend, Ellen Degeneres, speechless. As Amy went on about her “octopus” like body type, her relationship with a scone, and how not to behave when the paparazzi are on the prowl, Ellen was seen trying to catch her breath from listening to Amy’s shenanigans. Her quick wit is what surprises the audience the most. There isn’t a time when Schumer isn’t prepared with her next pun.

There are few female comedians out there that make it as big as Schumer has. Some of our favorites include Tina Fey, Amy Poehler, Kristin Wiig, Chelsea Handler, Rebel Wilson, and of course the lovely Ellen (who we’ve previously mentioned). Boys are notoriously known for being funnier than girls so when a female comedian comes about, they stand out. Voted “class clown” of her graduating high school class, Schumer continued to live up to her title as she began her career in stand-up in small New York comedy clubs in the early 2000’s, leading up to her appearance on NBC’s Last Comic Standing in 2012. From there she had small roles in movies up until recently where her fame and glory have skyrocketed.

Her new movie “Trainwreck” is unbelievably funny. There is a perfect amount of narrative to make it a romantic comedy without making it an overkill chick flick. Written by Schumer herself, Amy plays a character not far from her real self. Her character hysterically displays the some of the flaws with modern romance. If you haven't seen it yet, its definitely worth the trip to the theater.

Her face is popping up everywhere, her name is becoming more recognizable and everyone is anticipating what she will do next. Amy is the perfect class clown, her genius is so raw and natural, something only few are born with. As someone who loves to entertain others, I watch people like Schumer and admire their courage and innate talent. I am a firm believer that laughter is the best medicine and Amy Schumer is soon to be one of the best in the biz. So cheers! To Amy Schumer for entertaining the masses and going where few comedians have been before!

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
