The Top 5 Americanized Mexican Food Restaurants

When it comes to fast-ish food.. you know, the not really fast food, fast food, that involves sitting down usually and ordering at the counter, but is a little slower than your usual burger and fries... there always seems to be a lot of controversy surrounding the Mexican fast food area. Yes, I know, it really isn't real Mexican food. It is Americanized Mexican, that is basically just burritos, burrito bowls, tacos and quesadillas. But whatever your technical terminology is for this food style, you probably have a favorite. And when you have one of these favorites, you will fight to the death in order to claim it is at the top of the burrito chain.

So here is the definite list of the best fast Americanized Mexican food around.

Disclaimer: Mom, I know you will claim until the cows come home that Baja Fresh is the best fast Mexicanish food around, but it isn't even around anymore, so that was not even a consideration during the creation of this list.

5. Taco Bell

Taco Bell, or as my neighbor calls it, "Taco Hell" is actually real drive through fast food. It is the fastest and also the cheapest of the options. Sometimes, when you eat a Dorito Locos taco, you question what you are doing with your life. Actually, I question it whenever I bite into one of those gross but addictive crunchy things of processed meat and cheese. It really is not quality, and it's not even that appetizing, but sometimes you just have these hardcore cravings where you need a cheap taco. Also, BAJA BLASTS FOR THE WIN.

Confession: Once my friend Dara and I ate a 12 pack of Dorito Locos tacos by ourselves in about 15 minutes.

4. Qdoba

Q'Doba is not necessarily bad, but not necessarily mind blowing either. It is pretty salty, and the guac is sub-par.

It does not have nearly as big a following as Chipotle or Moe's, but it seems to be growing which I do give it a thumbs up for.

3. Moe's

Moe's, I think, is pretty good. I do like Moe's and find it above subpar. Recently, I had some Moe's because our whole hall got it for free and I found it pretty good. I also heard a lot about Moe's Monday, which I plan to eventually try out.

2. Chipotle

I enjoy Chipotle. It is pretty good, but I find it super overrated, because it has a huge ridiculous and obnoxious following of people who never had the number 1 place on the list so they really need to be quiet.

Chipotle is good, and they do have the biggest burrito bowls, but their mild salsa is slightly bitter, which is a little weird.

AND THE WINNER IS...

1.PANCHEROS

Pancheros is the most amazing fast burrito you can ever find. It is delicious and fresh and they press their tortillas made to order for you. It is literally heaven in a tortilla or a bowl. It is the most delicious scrumptious and amazing chain item you could ever get.

I advocate strongly for them because they are the most life changing, bomb.com food in the world.

They are so good that on the way to junior prom, we stopped there and took photos. Because, Panch is the most A1 food around.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
