I am strong because you are.
You both have gone through heartache, tragedy, and trying times. You have faced obstacles that slowed you down, but neither of you ever gave up. Your strength to carry on no matter what the circumstances are has been my motivation to get back up after being knocked down.
I am brave because you are.
There are times when I feel like I can’t do what needs to be done because I am incredibly fearful of the future or outcome. But you have taught me that I can’t avoid things I am afraid of. The only way to make a difference is to take a deep breath and just go for it.
I am caring because you are.
Throughout my lifetime, you both have cared for me more than anyone ever will. You have taught me the importance of loving and taking care of the people who matter most to me because you never know what could happen.
I am a hard worker because you are.
Life doesn’t give hand outs. We can’t expect to be given everything without lifting a finger. My life would be a mess if I didn’t have either of you in my life to show me that I have to work hard to get the things I want and need.
I am persistent because you are.
Despite possibly standing alone because of my beliefs, you have taught me to stay true to myself and form my own thoughts and opinions. Even though people may judge or disagree, I continue to firmly stand my ground.
I am determined because you are.
It would be easy to give up. But through your guidance, I have learned that giving up and quitting won’t get you very far. There have been many times I wanted to quit something but the reminder that I have the potential to succeed has driven me to stay determined.
