New Beginnings, Same Self-Worth

Just because someone didn't fight for you, doesn't mean you aren't worth fighting for.

There comes a time in everyone's life when things must change. This change can be a variety of things: friendships ending, adjusting to a new school, or moving, to name a few. However, you shouldn't fear this change, because this change will help you in more ways than one. You learn to accept that things are going to be different, and sometimes you need to learn how to say goodbye. When we were little, we listened as Peter Pan said not to grow up and "don't say goodbye, because goodbye means going away, and going away means forgetting." However, sometimes it's better to say goodbye and grow up.

When you miss your friends that went to different schools, don't regret your decision to make your own path.

When you have to pack up your car and drive away from the place you call home, you might shed a few tears, but understand that it's just a part of growing up.

When someone tells you that they can't be friends with you anymore because of their newest relationship, but they hope you understand, it will hurt.

Friends will come and go, and then you find your people. These people will turn into your family and they will never leave you. After some time, you will wonder how you ever got by without them by your side. The wonderful group of friends that have become your family will be there for you to lean on. Trust me, they will be there for you. If you begin to hate someone, they will all hate that person with you. They won't ever leave you to do anything on your own, whether it involves having to answer a text and not knowing what to say, or driving over an hour away for one of your friend's birthday dinners back home.

Some people will leave you, and that is okay. If they leave, they don't deserve you, especially if they tried to replace you. Nobody can ever replace you, and you need to know that and believe that. Nobody can ever take your place.

Life can be tough but never forget your worth.

You will find rock bottom. Learn how to swim back up to the top.

You will fail some tests. Find a new method of studying.

You will have bad days. You will have some of the best days of your life.

Never surrender.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
