Always Love What You Do

Photography is my passion, what's yours?

Always Love What You Do

Everyone has something. Everyone has that one or two things that they not only excel at but love. For me, my something is photography. I love the limitless possibilities and the plethora of ways you can bring an idea to life. I love the fact that I can take a simple picture and have it be interpreted in thousands of ways. In a way, photography is a way to help people find out who they are. I could take a picture of a black box in a gray or white room, and each person would see it differently. It would have a different effect on each person simply because they perceive the reasoning behind it in their own way. I think that is absolutely amazing.

I do specialize in portrait photography, but that doesn't make the effect of perception any less powerful. I have plenty of styled shoot ideas and plenty of subjects to choose from. I love to take my friends or clients and bring their wildest dreams to life because in today's age, it's possible. It's possible to create a fairy princess, a badass post apocalyptic warrior or a smoking group of life guards out of thin air. It's possible to manifest and immortalize their dreams in pictures, and I love every bit of it.

What I'm trying to get at is that your age doesn't determine anything except if you can legally drink, drive or go to a club. The world we live in is so diverse and moving so rapidly that you can do anything you want. You can make your particular talent flourish and make money from it. You can teach yourself everything you know from the internet and be better than over half the the professionals around you. This world has limitless possibilities, and there should be no reason anyone isn't taking advantage of it.

I got a camera for Christmas one year, and now my wildest aspiration is to be a high-class fashion photographer. Is it impossible? No. Is it hard to get there? Yes. Will I go to school for it? No. I have taught myself so all I need to do is take a few classes just to say I've taken it and go from there. If you find your passion, don't give it up. People who do things with passion are much more successful than those who do not, so live your life. Live it to the fullest. Do what you love. Do who you love. Be someone that another version of you would be proud of.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
