Recently, I have been thinking about how much time escapes us. In my life time I feel that time goes by so slow and that I am just waiting for the next big and exciting thing to happen so I can look forward to something else. In reality time is ticking by pretty fast. Or even time with friends and family, nothing is guaranteed. Every moment you may think you have with someone could be the last. Time is the only constant in our lives and we take that for granted.
Timing is also everything. In this day and age in the United States we keep a strict schedule and if you don't follow that then you are seen as lazy. God has put us on this planet and this exact time and the exact place and that is unbelievable to me. Where I work is because of the choices I've made and where I go to school and everything else that I've chosen has to deal with timing. This is how I feel life goes by without us noticing. We just go through the motions without realizing how incredible life is and how everything we do is because of timing.
Once you realize that every moment you have with someone or a memory that you have cannot be replaced or redone or even repeated, that's when you start really living. You realize that life is too short and even though that sounds so cliche, it's true. You can read about how someone's life has changed because of an accident or their dreams coming true, but until you hit that moment you don't really realize it. I had to realize that in a few days I won't be seeing some of my really good friends anymore. That may not sound like a lot, but I realized that these moments are precious and that I need to make the most of it. Another cliche quote, but live life to the fullest. Don't regret anything. Don't wish for something to happen or wish that you had done something, but go out and do it. Make memories and if it doesn't work out, there's always a life lesson to learn from.
Instead of wishing that your work day could go by faster so you can go home and watch TV or do whatever it is that you want to do after work. We should be cherishing each moment we have. We should be happy to work because it keeps us occupied and hopefully it is something that we love to do. Learn to love everything that you do and if you don't, learn to worry less about it because in the grand scheme of things it probably won't matter. That's something that I'm still working on, but I've now realized that and can work on it in the future. I challenge anyone reading this to go out and make the most of each day and live like it's your last day on earth because you'll never know when it'll be.
