I know that sometimes I can be "my mother's daughter" and people tell me all the time how much I am just like my mom. Despite this, I will always be a daddy's girl (sorry mom).

I like to think I am just like my dad. Not only do I have his butt chin, but I was lucky enough to pick up his amazing sarcasm as well. All my friends love you, I am proud to call you my dad. No one can rap quite like you.

My father has supported me in everything that I have done. No matter what sport I played at the time, my dad was there on the sidelines cheering me on. Every single dance recital I have danced in, I could hear my dad cheering for me in the audience. Every Odyssey article I have written, my dad has shared. At least twice. No matter how small the accomplishment, my dad has made it feel like the biggest. Thank you for making me feel so special.

No matter what I need, my dad is there to help me out. Sometimes it is just a ride to a friend's house, or I need something fixed. When I needed a place for my friends and I to hang out, you let your house be that place. Sometimes I needed to just go out and have my favorite food and vent about my life. You were always there to listen.

I know that sometimes we might butt heads and get angry at each other. But we never let it go on for too long. We love each other too much.

Thank you, dad for everything that you do. Thank you for always reminding me that you love me with a text message. Thank you for always picking up the phone when I call. Thank you for taking my sister and me to the movies, even though you usually fall asleep.

Thank you for always saying yes when my mother said no. Thank you for teaching me how to not take the little things too seriously. Thank you for throwing me a 20 when I needed some cash. Thank you for trying to understand the girl things that my sister and I always talk to you about. Thank you for calming me down anytime I am stressed out.

Also, thank you for still loving me even though I like the Mets and you like the Yankees.

I am a daddy's girl because of the love and the care that my father gives to me.

Thanks for being the best dad, I love you.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
