As full-time college students, we tend to get sick of dining hall food fairly quick. We find ourselves walking around, or looking up restaurants or food places that have a variety of meals, instead of the same thing that the campus has 24/7. If you’re a BSU student, chances are you’ve tried one of these five places during your time at school. Here are some alternatives I have found to our campus food.
1. Good Days Restaurant
Good Days Restaurant is located in West Bridgewater, about a 10-minute drive off campus. They have really good breakfast for cheap prices. It’s a nice change from ECC, Tilly, and Bears Den.
2. Bridgewater Bagel
Bridgewater Bagel is just a short walk off-campus, located on Broad Street. They are known for their bagels and signature cream cheese spreads, along with their unique flavors of coffee. These can range from blueberry to snickeroo (tastes like a snickerdoodle).
3. Better Bean Coffee Company
This is another short walk off campus, located in the rotary. I just experienced Better Bean for the first time this semester, and it was life changing. The “Tom Bomb” was an all around perfect sandwich.
4. Chessmen’s Pizza
This amazing pizza place is right across from Bogart’s, next to CVS. Us BSU students, use its late hours to an advantage. A chicken caesar pizza is beautiful when you’re craving delicious pizza. It is the perfect second dinner at one in the morning.
5. Marylou’s Coffee
Located with Tedeschis, Marylou’s is a popular coffee shop on the South Shore of Massachusetts. We are lucky to enough to have Marylou’s right off-campus. Since I live on the North Shore, whenever I go home, I miss this coffee immensely. I consider a “Girl Scout Cookie” the greatest dessert coffee. It tastes exactly like a thin mint.
If you have not tried one of these places, I strongly suggest it…especially Chessmen’s at one in the morning. I promise you won’t regret it.
