There’s about 3 things I can do before I’ve had my coffee in the morning, and those are
1. Breathing
2. Opening my eyes
3. Pouring coffee and creamer into my mug.
So, here’s to my first love, coffee:
You’re the first thing I think of in the morning, and the long (about 50 feet) distance between my bed to you feels like miles when I’m still asleep. The decision to leave my warm and cozy bed is only made once I know you’re finished brewing. I’m sorry I make you wake up so much earlier than me!
I’m more myself when you’re around. People tend to keep a safe distance from me in the morning unless you’re around. I like the version of me that I am when you’re around, and you’re such an important part of my life.
Being with you is the highlight of my day, whether it be as soon as I wake up or an afternoon jolt. Whether you’re hot, iced, mixed with steamed milk, made at home or purchased, I need to see you every day.
Our relationship is seven years strong now, and I’m so glad that I’ve never looked back. Our relationship has evolved from super-sugary concoctions to a large cup with just a splash of creamer each morning, and I’m grateful for every sip.
Even just being in your presence boosts my mood, and relaxes me. Having you by my side brings a contentment that nothing else can.
You’re always there for me whenever I need it, even if it’s 2 am on a Wednesday and I should really be sleeping. You help me wake up in the morning, and I’m forever grateful for you.
Love,
Molly
