Why 7 Billion People Feel Alone

Why do we want to fight our battles by ourselves?

Do you ever feel alone?

The truth is, everyone does at some point in their lives. We all feel like our life is ours and ours alone. We feel like because we are living it from our perspective, we have to figure everything out all on our own. We think, no one would understand and no one would care. The truth is? We all feel like that. And there are a lot of people out there.

According to the United Nations, world population reached 7 billion on October 31, 2011. The US Census Bureau made a lower estimate, for which the 7 billion mark was only reached on March 12, 2012. So, back in 2012, we realized there are 7 billion other people out there. Does this change the fact that we live in our own little worlds where life appears to be completely revolved around population "me"? We are so concentrated on figuring out our own problems, and struggling day to day, because we can't, that we forget that there are others who have been, or are going through, the exact same stuff!

In our own little worlds, (by the way, that is a song by Matthew West called "My Own Little World.") we want to have control, and when things don't go right or we come across a problem we can't figured out, we automatically try and keep it to ourselves. We think that we are the only people who could struggle with this, and that it is our burden and ours alone to figure out.

Let me ask you something all you readers. Why would a God that loves us so much create the world with the potential for billions of people if he didn't want them to figure out life's problems together? Genesis 1:28: Then God blessed them and said, "Be fruitful and multiply. Fill the earth and govern it. Reign over the fish in the sea, the birds in the sky, and all the animals that scurry along the ground." God also promised Abraham he would make his decendants as numerous as the dust of the earth. Why would he promise so many decendants to Abraham and bless Adam and Eve to have as far as we know, an untold number of children, if he didn't want us to live in unity?

You know how when the floor is opened up for confessions, anybody can admit anything they want other people to know about them? They are able to just get it off their chest. People are always really nervous at first and it doesn't seem like that big of a deal until someone gets the courage to go up there and just lay it all out and it is insane, nobody could have thought that he was going through that, because he never let on. He always kept it to himself, but once he lets it all out, everyone else thinks "oh wow! My story isn't nearly that big." And they get the courage to tell their story too! Someone always has to take the first step and nobody wants to be the one that starts the ball rolling. But when someone does, are we going to be their worst nightmare and criticize them for it and bash them, or are we going to be their relief? Someone they can just let it all out to. We as Christians are called to show them the love of God, and help them get through their situation.

Very easily when someone gets the courage to tell something huge, most people bash them and criticize them for it. Well guess what, that person will most likely never want to share what's going on with them ever again. Because, the moment they felt secure, and let it all out, they were judged so harshly that they wonder, what's the point?

For those of you who have tried to tell somebody what was going on, but were shut down, there are still people that will listen and help you through your problems. Yes, it is hard to let it go and move on, but I promise, once you let it out to someone who cares, it will literally feel like a huge weight has been taken off your shoulders. Who knows, you could be someone else's relief. Maybe the person you tell is going through the same thing, and you don't get any real answer, but just knowing that you are not alone, will feel like a world of difference.

Like that, someone needs to take the first step in the local community. There are so many topics that are sort of taboo to talk about and I want to shed a light on those stories.

I am taking that first step and getting the ball rolling. My goals for these articles is to share a little piece of my life and start speaking out about what is going on out there.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
