I’m Sydney, a Junior Mass Communications Major and Photo Minor with dreams of becoming a journalist. I’m new here, as I'm sure you have probably already figured out. I have written for my school newspaper, and this past summer I was one of seven 2016 SCETV Endowment Interns. I am super excited to now have the privilege of being a part of the Odyssey team!

I just thought I would give my readers some idea of what to expect from me. I am very Catholic, and very Conservative in my political views. Both of those elements seem to find their way into nearly everything I write, as they are such a big part of who I am. Some of my articles will be exclusively about religion and politics, others will be much more fun and frivolous, and still others will be somewhere in between. Healthy debate in the comments section is always welcome, but pure meanness and cruelty is, as you may have guessed, not.

Alright, that's enough of the boring intro stuff. Keep an eye out for my first "real" article, coming soon!

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
