1. Great Grandma’s Sugar Cookies
Ingredients:
- 1 cup of brown sugar
- 1 cup of white sugar
- 1 cup margarine or butter
- 1 cup of canola oil
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon of vanilla
- 3 1/2 cups of flour
- 1 teaspoon of cream tarter
- 1 teaspoon of baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon of salt
- 1 cup of Rice Krispies
- 1 cup of shredded coconut
- 1 cup of oatmeal
Preheat oven to 350. Mix together brown sugar, sugar, margarine or butter, canola oil, egg and vanilla. In a separate bowl, mix together flour, cream tarter, baking soda and salt. Add second bowl of ingredients to the first bowl. Stir in the Rice Krispies, shredded coconut and oatmeal.
Mix all together until soft. Roll into balls and press with an upside down glass coated in sugar. Bake 10 to 15 minutes. Do not remove from cookie sheet until cool.
2. Grandma’s Chocolate Torte
Ingredients (Torte):
- 1 Box Duncan Hines Brownie Mix
- 3 eggs
- 1/3 cup of water
- 1/3 cup of oil
- 1/2 cup of chopped pecans (optional)
- 6 ounces of semi- sweet chocolate chips
- 1/2 cup of softened butter
- 2 tablespoons of whipping cream
Preheat oven at 350. Mix together. Grease and flour a 9 inch round cake pan. Bake for 30 to 35 minutes
Ingredients (Frosting):
Melt chocolate chips and butter then add whipping cream. Spread over torte. Serve with cool whip or ice cream.
3. Mom’s Molasses Cookies
Ingredients
- 3/4 cup of butter
- 1 cup of sugar
- 1 egg
- 4 tablespoons of molasses
- 2 cups of flour
- 2 teaspoons of baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon of ginger
- 1 teaspoon of cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon of salt
- 1 teaspoon of cloves
Mix all together. Chill dough overnight in refrigerator. Preheat oven to 350. Once chilled, roll balls in sugar. Bake 8 to 9 minutes. Leave on cookie sheet for 1 minute.
