As a makeup lover, or, as some people might say, makeup addict, I am constantly trying out new products and techniques to see what ultimately are the best makeup products. On YouTube there’s a “tag” called the “Ride or Die Makeup Tag,” and of course it got me thinking. I have a few holy grail makeup products that I continuously keep going back to, they’re my ride or die products. With the new year beginning, I couldn't think of a better way to ring in the new year, than providing everyone with some amazing makeup recommendations.

I'm first going to begin my recommendations from the base so that you can create an entire look using all of these recommendations. You don't have to apply makeup in the order I have below, makeup is creative and you can apply it however you feel.

Step 1: Moisturizer

Fresh: Lotus Youth Preserve Face Cream with Super 7 Complex

This moisturizer gives your skin a flawless finish and is extremely hydrating. A lot of people forget that skin care is important not just for your health and skin, but skin care is important during makeup, because your makeup needs a flawless base or canvas to work with.

Step 2: Primer

Too Faced: Hangover Replenishing Face Primer

This category was hard to choose because there are so many amazing primers out on the market. This primer is a great everyday primer that will make your makeup last you all day long, and make your skin feel smooth and flawless.

Step 3: Foundation

MAYBELLINE: Fit Me Matte + Poreless Foundation

Yes, a drugstore foundation is my holy grail! In my opinion, drugstore foundations are just as good as high-end foundations. The great thing about this foundation is that it has so many shades to choose from, for all different skin types. I have never had any issues with this foundation concerning longevity or how it wears. I love the finish and it will make your skin look flawless like you have no foundation on!

Step 4: Concealer

TARTE: Double Duty Beauty Shape Tape Contour Concealer

By far the best concealer of all time, this is the hottest concealer from 2016! It is the hardest concealer to get your hands on because everyone wants one. This concealer is very full-coverage, but it doesn't crease or settle into your fine lines. I'm truly obsessed!

Step 5: Translucent Powder

FLOWER: Powder Up Loose Powder

If some of you have never heard of this loose powder, you're missing out! It's made by the brand Flower Beauty which is only sold at Walmart. It's an affordable, amazing powder to bake with or to set your makeup with. It leaves your skin blurred and without any imperfections.

Step 6: Face Powder

MAC: Studio Fix Powder Plus Foundation

This is an optional step if you don't want to add another face powder, but this is my holy grail face powder. This powder gives my foundation an extra added coverage taking it up another notch, and this powder helps my skin looking matte all day because nobody wants to have oily looking cake face. The bonus: this face powder has over 48 shades, so everyone can find their perfect match.

Step 7: Brows

ANASTASIA BEVERLY HILLS: Tinted Brow Gel

Anastasia Beverly Hills is the Queen when it comes to eyebrows. Whether you're experienced or comfortable at applying a brow pomade or brow pencil to your brows, in my opinion, the holy grail makeup item everyone needs is a tinted brow gel. Anastasia's tinted brow gel is my favorite because even if you have no time to get ready, applying some of this tinted brow gel will make your eyebrows look polished and ready for the day in under 10 seconds.

Step 8: Eye shadow Primer

My favorite way to prime my eyes is by using a concealer and translucent powder to lock in and set the concealer on your lids. Using concealer saves time, and it works just as good, if not better than a regular eye shadow primer.

Step 9: Eye shadow

Anastasia Beverly Hills: Modern Renaissance Eye Shadow Palette

I am absolutely in love with this gorgeous warm toned palette! This palette hit the market in 2016, and I haven't put it down yet. This palette has shades for everyone, it has neutrals, dark shades, and shimmer and matte shades. You can transform your look from day to evening with this palette.

Step 10: Eyeliner

Ciaté London: Chisel Liner High Definition Tip Eyeliner

I got this liner in my Ipsy Glam Bag a few months ago, and I cant use any other liner, this is my holy grail eyeliner. It's a felt tip liner and it's fool proof. You can make your wing dramatic or just make a simple liner look. This eyeliner is extremely matte and black, and will last all day!

Step 11: Mascara

L'ORÉAL: Voluminous Carbon Black Volume Building Mascara

This is the best mascara in the world, and the best part is that its drugstore. If you want your lashes super black and look like falsies, this is the mascara for you. I've used this mascara for years and I can't seem to find anything better than this. People always compliment me and ask if I'm wearing false eyelashes when I wear this mascara.

Step 12: Bronzer

Bobbi Brown: Bronzing Powder

This Bobbi Brown Bronzer is my holy grail bronzer for so many reasons! This bronzer doesn't make you look orange and it doesn't fade throughout the day. This bronzer gives your skin a sun-kissed look and it's build-able if you want a more dramatic look to your cheek bones for the evening.

Step 13: Highlighter

BECCA: Shimmering Skin Perfector® Pressed Highlighter

If you want to glow to the gods, this is the highlighter for you! This highlighter gives your skin a dewy, fresh, and radiant. This highlighter is amazing and completely worth the money. This highlighter is great to highlight the inner corner of your eye, brow bone, and nose too! I haven't stopped using this highlight, I love it!

Step 14: Lips

Lipstick-

Kat Von D: Studded Kiss Lipstick

My ride or die lipstick has always been the Kat Von D lipsticks, now don't get it mistaken for her liquid lipsticks, her lipstick formula is my ride or die. For a lipstick, it's extremely long lasting and has bold pigmented color that's comfortable and easy to throw on.

Liquid Lipstick-

Too Faced: Melted Matte Liquified Matte Long Wear Lipstick

2016 was the year of liquid lipsticks, and out of all of the formula's I've tried, Too Faced's formula is the best. The runner up is Anastasia's Liquid Lipstick and Kylie Cosmetics liquid lipstick. This formula is so comfortable and is quick drying, but it doesn't make my lips feel dry at all. I am in love with this product so much, it's my ride or die liquid lipstick formula.

Lip Gloss-

Buxom: Full-On™ Lip Cream

My ride or die lip gloss is Buxom! What made me fall in love with this formula is the shade White Russian. It is the perfect lip gloss if you want to top it off on a lipstick or if you want to wear the gloss alone, it is so pigmented and makes your lips look wet and glossy.

Step 15: Setting Spray

Urban Decay: All Nighter Long-Lasting Makeup Setting Spray

This is my ride or die setting spray! I can't use any other setting spray, I am in a committed relationship with this spray. This setting spray makes your skin look smooth, and makes your makeup last all day and night. It doesn't make your makeup melt, crack, fade, or settle into fine lines.
