Dear "my person,"
"You're my person" A term conceived by Meredith Grey and Christina Yang, TV's greatest friendship power duo.
18 years ago, you were involuntarily made my person. We had no choice but to grow together and to change each others lives. Fortunately, I probably would have chosen you anyway. Although I don't quite remember the first six years of our lives spent together, I do know that little you thought you were going to jail but ever so kindly planted the stolen stress ball in my dresser because somehow I was more equipped for the prison life at 6 years old??? And yes I just called you out, exposing you for what you truly are.
Although you may be a stress ball thief, you are still my stress ball thief. And because I refuse to ever say any of this to you in person, I'm willing to thank you via this letter. So thank you for being my built-in best friend and always encouraging me to strive. Thank you for being so unbelievably inspiring and accomplished that it pushes me to do the same. Thank you for being a phone call away at 3am whenever I need you, and know that that will always be reciprocated. Thank you for judging me and telling me when to get my sh*t together cause I honestly really need that sometimes. Also, thanks for being 4,957 miles away because if you were any closer I'd probably go crazy.
Being on complete opposite ends of the country has made me cherish my life with you 1,000 times more. It makes me so ridiculously grateful that our parents were stupid, but that they were stupid together because if they weren't, one of us would've had to survive these crazy families alone and I can guarantee that's just not possible.
I'm basically trying to tell you, in the most sarcastic and least sappy way as possible, that I love you, and I wouldn't be me without you. I also never would have watched Grey's Anatomy if it wasn't for you and to be honest, I can't tell if that's a good or a bad thing. But regardless, you are my best friend, my better half, my "twisted sister" and my person for the rest of our lives.
Love you to the moon and back sis, and forever remember: "He is not the sun, you are."
Always,
Your Person
