Airmar Ultrasonic Weather Station with GPS

Airmar weather station is the perfect choice for professionals who need reliable, real-time weather measurements while on the move, such as Firefighters, Civil Defense, Fire brigade, Hazardous Materials Control, Chemical Spraying, and Marine and Offshore Operations, among others.

Airmar is the only station with no moving parts, and integrated sensors with GPS, which provides direction and real and apparent wind speed, barometric pressure, air temperature, relative humidity, dew point, and wind chill. The manufacturing material is UV-protected, fully waterproof, and chemical resistant. For more information about weather instruments visit Weather Scientific.

Airmar station is wired and comes with WeatherCaster software, which allows data visualization and storage. The station does not have a display (console) and therefore needs a computer for viewing.

The following equipment is connected to the weather station:

  • Satellite communication station IDP690
  • Source of power
  • Cable set

Airmar has developed and operates an automatic complex for collecting meteorological information (hereinafter Airmar).

Airmar is intended for automatic (i.e. without involving the ship's personnel) collection of the meteorological situation in the area of navigation of the ship, according to the instructions (guides) of the World Meteorological Organization (WMO) and Roshydromet and data transmission via the Inmarsat IsatData Pro satellite network. The subscriber device is based on the SkyWave IDP-690 satellite communication station and AIRMAR PB-200 automatic weather station.

Coffee! Coffee! Coffee!

Lorelai Gilmore and I are kindred spirits.

Coffee! Coffee! Coffee!

When I was in high school, I was the occasional coffee drinker, if you could call it that. I would drink Starbucks frappuccinos and iced mocha drinks, which were more like snacks than coffee, BUT they had coffee in them, so I said I drank coffee. I progressed from my love of “snack drinks" to a more general appreciation of coffee, and would have a cup of coffee once a week or so. My “cup of coffee" would consist of a little coffee and a lot of cream and sugar, but it was coffee nonetheless. Then I started college.

Why go somewhere fun when you can go home?

girl with parents

Well, this school year has come to a close, and it's off to having fun in the sun. For college students, summer offers a few different options: get an internship somewhere AMAZING like NYC, India or somewhere else awesome, travel, stay in your college town or go home for the summer. Whatever the reasoning, many people do end up going home and living with their parents during the summer. Many things are different when you go home for the summer. Because the best part of flying isn't the flying.

Google Images

I’m not sure that many would consider their airport experience to be “fun.” It is either boredom or panic, layovers so long that you forget what the outside world looks like or connections that are made by the skin of your teeth. It is the decision between buying expensive food and starving; it is hunting for outlets (because the airports I’ve been in seem to have about five); it is the stress of making it through security without being that person who holds up everyone else. In short, it is stressful and time-consuming.
