It's September, which only means American Horror Story is back. For their sixth season, they took a different route.
Fans are informed of the theme early or mid-summer but this season we didn't find out until the premiere. Me personally? I had so many theories and ideas. I think I looked into it where my friends got annoyed by how dedicated I was to figure it out. Who can blame me though? I've been watching American Horror Story since it first premiered in 2010 without even knowing what it was about. And with this season, it felt like nostalgia. Though this time they had many teasers but no theme everyone could agree on.
The premiere of season six had people confused and excited. For me I was confused, I saw characters I knew and characters I didn't. Trying to understand the concept and theme was a bit too much in the first ten minutes. But this tactic didn't backfire, instead it had me more engaged than other seasons. I wanted to know what I was watching and what I'd be expecting for the first episode. Many questions ran through my head to determine what exactly was going on, and personally I thought I just wasn't getting it. But thanks to Twitter and my friends, they were feeling the same way. By the end of the premiere, it made me wonder what else to expect. Because throughout the entire episode I screamed and felt anxious, it felt like a horror movie since you did not know what it was about.
For this season, I don't think I have any expectations only because I shouldn't. With a theme so broad yet specific it's hard to determine what should be happening. If anything, I'm more excited to see how the original cast can break through each character they've had in previous seasons while the new ones make a lasting impression.
Thanks for the thrill AHS, I'm waiting for what else you've got.
