After the election...
There's no debate that the candidates in this 2016 presidential election could not be any more different than they are. They stand on two separate sides, they have conflicting policies, and they agree on pretty much nothing. One would would think that their differences make it much easier for us to pick a side. But does it?
We either vote for a woman with 30 plus years of experience, which scares most people because "who trusts a politician", or we vote for a narcissistic, politically incorrect business man.
I don't trust either one.
But, I know a choice has to be made.
My faith tells me to choose the candidate that supports policies that I see benefiting EVERYONE in the United States, not just me. Their policies must grant everyone human rights, a chance to succeed, and an opportunity to get ahead.
I emphasize the fact that I am supporting the candidate that wants to be a president for ALL Americans. Not just certain Americans. We can not be selfish in this election. Just because you do not see a policy benefiting yourself, does not mean that you should spit on it. Think of all the people it would be benefiting. Think about all the people who truly need the help. Think about your position too of course, but also let go of some of your selfishness and pride. This election is bigger than just you and what YOU think the world needs.
The world needs peace, prosperity, and human rights. Vote for the candidate you see fit.
But after the election...
Are we going to plaster Facebook bashing the winner, or will we come back together?
Are we going to fight with each other in class, or will we put our prides aside and allow the candidate to prove themselves?
I want nothing more to see an actual UNITED states. No matter who wins this ugly election, I can only hope and pray that we as a country can set aside our differences and be there for one another like a brotherhood.
I truly hope people will start to look at each other as more the same than different. The politicians and the government system will not always have our backs, but we can have each others.
" God don't like ugly", as my mom would always say.
